How to Use This App

Everything you need to get the most out of 97 enrichment games โ€” from your first session to building a full routine.

๐Ÿš€Getting Started
1๏ธโƒฃ
Pick a dog profile โ€” Tap Who's playing? in the header to select your dog's profile (Tiny/Toy, Senior, Anxious/Reactive, Puppy, or Low Mobility). The app highlights adapted games and surfaces modifications first inside every game detail.
2๏ธโƒฃ
Browse or filter โ€” Hit the ๐ŸŽฎ Browse tab. Use the category buttons, level badges (๐ŸŒฑ ๐ŸŒฟ ๐ŸŒณ), and search bar to find a game that fits your dog today. If you're not sure where to start, filter to ๐ŸŒฑ Beginner and pick any Focus or Impulse game.
3๏ธโƒฃ
Open a game card โ€” Tap any game tile to see the full detail: supplies, step-by-step instructions, trainer tips, troubleshooting, and a Ready to Level Up? suggestion for when you're ready to progress.
4๏ธโƒฃ
Log your session โ€” After playing, check โœ… Played inside the game and add a note. Your history lives in the ๐Ÿ““ Log tab and your progress bar updates automatically.
๐Ÿ†The Trainer Level System

As you and your dog mark more games played, you level up as a handler โ€” and new programs unlock. This keeps the harder, more advanced work from feeling overwhelming too soon.

๐ŸŒฑ
New Handler (0+ played) โ€” Full access to the General Brain Games library, 77 games strong.
๐ŸŒฟ
Growing Handler (15+ played) โ€” Unlocks ๐Ÿ‘ Herding Drive Games, our most advanced directional and precision work.
๐ŸŒณ
Skilled Handler (35+ played) โ€” A milestone tier that shows real mastery is building.
๐Ÿ†
Advanced Handler (60+ played) โ€” Full access, deep into the library.
๐Ÿ‘‘
Master Trainer (90+ played) โ€” The top tier. Your progress bar and level badge live right under the header on every tab.

Some individual games also have their own prerequisites โ€” look for the ๐Ÿ”‘ Master These First section inside a game's detail view. Those unlock as soon as the specific games listed are marked played, independent of your overall Trainer Level.

๐ŸŽฏUnderstanding the Three Skill Levels
๐ŸŒฑ
Beginner โ€” Foundation games. Simple setup, high success rate, short sessions. Start here with any new dog or any new category. These games build the trust and vocabulary everything else depends on.
๐ŸŒฟ
Intermediate โ€” Building games. More duration, distance, or distraction than the beginner version. Only move here once your dog is succeeding 80%+ of the time at the beginner level in that category.
๐ŸŒณ
Advanced โ€” Mastery games. Multi-step sequences, discrimination, or sustained focus under real-world conditions. These are genuinely challenging. A dog who can do these well has a remarkable foundation.

The Ready to Level Up? suggestion at the bottom of every game card shows you the specific harder game that this one unlocks.

๐ŸพThe Five Dog Profiles

Every single game in this library includes modifications for all five profiles. Selecting your dog's profile doesn't hide games โ€” it highlights the most accessible ones and shows their adaptations first.

๐Ÿพ
Tiny / Toy Breeds โ€” Scaled spaces, smaller objects, shorter distances. All 97 games are fully accessible for dogs under 15 lbs.
๐Ÿฆด
Senior Dogs โ€” Low-impact modifications, shorter sessions, soft surfaces. Enrichment without joint stress.
๐Ÿ’›
Anxious / Reactive Dogs โ€” Threshold-aware adaptations. Nervous system regulation comes before performance. These modifications are informed by polyvagal theory and the Fearghus Method approach.
๐Ÿถ
Puppies โ€” Age-appropriate versions with appropriate cognitive load for developing brains. Includes notes on minimum age where relevant.
โ™ฟ
Low Mobility โ€” Stationary-first alternatives. Every game can be adapted for dogs recovering from injury or with physical limitations.
๐Ÿ“‹Using the Syllabus Tab

The ๐Ÿ“‹ Syllabus tab shows every game in the library as a compact checklist โ€” great for planning sessions in advance or printing for a client. Tap any game name to jump directly to its full detail view. Use the fire hydrant icon to mark favorites you return to often.

๐Ÿ““The Session Log

Every time you mark a game as Played and add a note, it's saved to the ๐Ÿ““ Log. Use this to track what you worked on, what went well, and what to revisit. Notes are stored locally in your browser โ€” they stay between sessions on the same device.

Your progress bar at the top of the app shows how many of the 97 games you've played at least once. Work toward 100% as a long-term enrichment goal.

๐Ÿ’กSession Tips from The Fearghus Method
โฑ๏ธ
Keep sessions short. 5โ€“10 minutes of genuine engagement beats 30 minutes of diminishing returns. End while your dog still wants more.
๐Ÿง
One new game at a time. Introduce one unfamiliar game per session. Pair it with a game your dog already loves.
๐ŸŒก๏ธ
Read arousal before you start. A dog who is already over-threshold will not learn well. Begin every session with 2 minutes of sniffing or calm settling.
โœ…
80% success is the ceiling, not the floor. If your dog is getting it right less than 80% of the time, the game is too hard. Make it easier โ€” shorter distance, fewer steps, higher-value treats.
๐ŸŽ‰
Celebrate the effort, not just the outcome. A dog who is thinking and trying, even imperfectly, is doing exactly what you want.
